Hi all.
I picked up my 6 month old boar from a rescue last week and today noticed this in the middle of his tummy- see pics. He was neutered while at the sanctuary. Is it an infected stitch from his op- some pus is coming out.
Has anyone seen anything like this? I am worried about him? Am going to call the vets tomorrow.

Thank you.

Good luck at the vets. It does look like it could be pus. Does it wipe away? Does more appear if squeezed gently?

Yes I wiped some away and it is just a black little hole now. I cleaned it with warm salty water.

Hopefully it will clear up with some antibiotics. Is he ok in himself? Keep us posted. ❤️

Yes he is very squittish and only weighs 580g which I think is a little light for a 6 month old. He has been eating his pellets and hay and some veggies. Bless him he is just so scared x

Bless him. See what the vet says about it.

You can check his heft. Feel around his ribs see if they are very noticeable. You should be able to feel them but not too much.

Update- it is a little irritation in the incision from his neutering and I need to use saline to clean it. Worst case scenario of it swells and gets worse he may need a little procedure but I’m hoping all will be ok! Here he is today!

Glad you were able to get him seen so promptly and that it’s nothing serious.
Hopefully with the saline cleaning everything will heal quickly
