Bear with me on this one!

I've been feeding Big Dave (and consquently Boxy!) critical care with extra vit C, as Big Dave has lost a lot of weight and isn't eating like he used to.

I've previously mixed it with water, and with pureed fruit and/or veg to make a paste-like consistency, and they LOVE it - they have a small bowl of it each night and by the morning it's gone.

What I want to know, is whether it's ok to feed baby food to guinea pigs? I'm not talking about cottage pie or anything, but like the pureed fruit or veg? I had a look when I went shopping last night and there are some which say the only ingredients are fruit and/or veg. They don't even list any preservatives or anything. Are these ok? They wouldn't have them all the time, just when I don't have time to stand and puree fruit/veg for them!

When my bunnies were neutered I got told to give them baby food if they weren't eating - as long as it didn't contain potato.
But that's buns, so not sure if pigglies would be different?

I gave my Big Dave baby food mixed with the pellets. :) I think they were the 100% fruit or veg ones, ella's kitchen. They were in pouches as opposed to jars. He loved them the fat piggy :)). He liked the carrot and parsnip and apple one

That's the ones I looked at - they have nothing else listed apart from fruit and veg. Asda also have some of their own brand that have just fruit or veg in. I'll try them and see what they think!

I imagine that it'd be ok as long as the food in them is ok for pigs - i.e. no beef casserole! :))

check the fine print on the food, just in case they've sneaked a bit of potato or rice in to bulk it up

When Skittle snapped his teeth earlier this year he would not eat anything at all unless it was mashed up strawberries and sugarsnap peas, the vet advised baby food too but to stay away from preservative and potato.

We used an organics range, i cant for the life of me remember if it was from Tesco or Holland & Barratts, either way it was vegan and he scoffed the lot =). Just check the fine print or get mashing yourself!
