I've noticed that little ginge baby is being pushed out a bit and not getting a go at mums milk. He's jumping about and acting the same as the rest, I'm just worried because he is the smallest and being pushed about by the bigger ones, is there anything I can do to help him? I've read that taking the other babies out for ten mins or so can help so he can have some milk on his own can help but mummy pigs not happy about that and starts wheeking! He's also yet to start eating whereas the rest have been eating bits of food and hay

I'm sure if you presented mum with some tasty veggies she would not notice the stronger ones disappearing for a bit, hopefully this will give the little one a chance to have a good feed. If mum still wheeks for the other babies perhaps have her out for some laptime with the little one so that he can get a full feed.

You can soften pellets with some hot water so the babies find them easier to eat - the whole family will probably get tucked in.

Thanks, getting them both out is a good plan, will go do that in a min. Thanks for that. Have already been putting in softened pellets, the rest love them but not seen little ginge have any yet. although he could have done when I've not been watching!

I agree with Suzy. Some mum and ginger baby bonding time for a bit so little one can get there strength up. Are the little ones picking up hay yet? Usually a good sign they are beginning to copy mum.

Last nights milking session went well. Ginge got stuck in there for 20 mins well mum nommed some veggies :)) all the other are eating well, eating the pellet much and hay. Little ginge has been having a go too!

Thats fab, just monitor his weight and make sure he is gaining, and keep an eye on him and make sure he is still succeeding, if not you will have to hand feed him for a while. Or give him to me and let me do it:)) x

:)):)) he is gorgeous. I've got my hands full here! he's doing better today, the others are not bothering mum as much so he's getting a good feed while they're busy munching hay
