I can't seem to find any female baby guinea pigs in rescues in West Yorkshire?

I would love to add a little one to my pair. Sadly my lovely Pansy passed away in October and I miss her so much.

I think I'm ready to have a trio again. I just prefer having a group of guinea pigs as if one sadly left for the bridge, I wouldn't be left with a single one.

I have 2 females aged around 3 years old now. I think they'd be more accepting of a baby guinea pig than another adult. Also probably a selfish reason but I would love to experience having a baby guinea pig!

Obviously a breeder is out of the question. I want to find a rescue but it's so difficult and it's made me realise why some people unfortunately resort to going to a breeder or free ad. :(

Please help me in my search!

Oh and I have a 6ft x 2ft hutch, suitable for three?

Walsall RSPCA often have baby piggies available due to the amount of pregnant sows that get taken in, of which there has been a lot recently :( If you could somehow get down to Walsall in the future that could be an option, I don't know how many pregnant piggies they have in at the moment but Vicky is always full with piggies it seems :(

Always worth contacting @x-vic-x or @becky86 on here as they run Walsall for a further chat.

Dear @Fudge and Rainbow :) ,

I don't know exactly you are in West Yorkshire but have you tried Milhaven Rescue in Keighley ? http://www.milhaven-rescue.com/

From what I am hearing from other guinea pig owners, I would much sooner seek advice from a rescue centre that is able to offer a bonding / dating service rather than buy one from a breeder or pet shop.

It can be quite frustrating because there can sometimes be a bit of a wait going via a rescue centre but it is worth it in the end.

Rescues usually don't advertise their babies; have you rung up any of our recommended rescues (see top bar) and asked them whether they have any youngsters that could be dated with your couple? They also may have youngsters coming for up adoption in the next few weeks. Your hutch will even accommodate a pair. BARC in Barnsley, Milhaven in Keighley and Cavy Corner in Doncaster are all within your reach.

Thanks for the replies :) I actually adopted Lily from Milhaven so will contact them. I didn't see any on the website so assumed they didn't have any babies in but I can understand why they wouldn't want to advertise them!

I will also have a look at the other rescues you have mentioned, thanks. :)
