I have required 2 baby female guinea pigs, they where in a litter of 4 girls. I have been told that they are 10 weeks old. Now I have 2 boys that are 8 weeks old and they weigh .550g and 520g. The girls weigh .292g and .300g at 10 weeks old. The boys weighed the same as the girls at 4 weeks old. I know that boys are bigger but do you think the girls are younger then 10 weeks?

They sound very small for 10 weeks old. If you look at the pregnancy section another member has just rehomed her two baby pigs at 7 weeks weighing 270g and 344g.

Thanks just seen that. I just like to have a rough idea how old they are, I had my 2 boys at nearly 5 weeks old and I would say that they must be about 6 weeks old 7 at a push?

has anyone got weights of there little ones? I keep a book that I write their weights down every week. Sad I know!

My Girl Winnie was 400g at 6 weeks and 560g at 8 weeks. I guess all piggies are different but you little ones sound very small - I really would doubt them being 10 weeks...

My max was 250g at 4w old
Ollie was 400g at 8w old

So would you say we are looking at about 5 weeks old then? I just want to have a birthday date for them!
What do you think?

That was me, my boys are both fine and eat well, the smallest igglepiggle was just 62g when he was born and seems huge now although he is under 300g which is tiny compaired to my other 9 (incl his 3 brothers).

They do seem small but looking at the weights of my 2 that were rehomed at the weekend just shows that averages weights are just that average and each one is different.

I got Tait at 4wks old, he was the runt of the litter, almost half the size of his sisters & he weighed 219g at exactly 4wks old, 271g at 5wks & 347g at 6wks :)

I think I am thinking to much about their weight! I am just going to say that they are 6 weeks! Thanks guys!

I'm no expert at all love, but judging by my girls who were born now just under 5 weeks ago, well their weights last thursday were 178 and 173 grams
Hope that helps :{
I really think it seems to depend on the parents, if both are bigger the mini's are that way, but if mum or dad smaller........you get the pigture @)

Wow you going to be a mummy piggy to babies!

Yes and i'm thrilled x)x)

SO do you think you're little ones are not the age you thought then? or as i said maybe their parent smaller? it's so hard to tell :{

Not sure at all! But I would say that they are about 6 weeks old and not 10 weeks old.
I couldnt be happier Glynis. From having to give up my rescue then my own guinea pigs and rabbits 3 years ago because of moving into a flat and now I have my own house with my own piggy shed! With 7 guinea pigs and 1 pregnant piggy! Oh and not forgetting my kids now have a trampoline! happy days!

They do sound about 5 weeks going by their weights, but as long as they are happy and healthy, that is the main thing.
