Which foods would you really avoid giving baby pigs? I have rehomed a 6 week old baby who has been paired with my 1 1/2 year old so am feeling a bit wary about feeding them all the normal veg
You are sensible to think about this. Just do as you would with any new arrival whose previous diet is uncertain.
Stick to a small amount of one veg at a time to see if there is any adverse reaction before you introduce another. So perhaps a small bit of pepper first, then a bit of carrot the next time. Small amounts and decent intervals between so that you can see how the piggy reacts to the new foods.
Have fun with your new arrival and finding out their likes/dislikes. And pics please!
Have you read the forum's food guide? Also, just in case you didn't know, red pepper is not an everyday food, too sugary or something. I did not know that. Also lettuce is not hugely nutritional. I expect you know this, but it's just advice! But anyway, moderation is key as always, and we need pigtures. Seriously, we need them.
My guinea pig is five and he will eat non baby carrots and he hasn't no problems now you can feed your baby guinea pig vegetables but give enough that the pigs won't fight and be VERY carful with fruit it ha a lot of sugar but I'm sure you know this.
