Me and Mum decided to not wait any longer, we're getting Smudge a friend.

Tomorrow I may be skiving college to go and get a baby girl guinea pig; as Smudge is still very withdrawn. However, I feel having another pig around will really help her out!
I'm excited to see her happy again, but I'm sad for Cookie, it's so mixed.

Good luck on your piggy hunt. Fingers crossed you find Smudge a friend. You are bound to have mixed feelings but I feel sure a baby guinea will help you and Smudge.

Huge hugs to you, it is difficult but do not treat it as a replacement, just gaining another love for you and Smudge. I lost my Bea in January and was by no means looking for a new piggy (I had decided to stick with 3) so I was taken back when I found myself enquiring after a photo of Issy on the rescue facebook page. I have not regretted the decision at all and she doesn't feel like a replacement... in fact she does as she's told by the other pigs and wheeks loudly for her dinner so I think Bea would approve

Hoping Cookie will understand that I'm doing this for Smudge. She really needs a friend. Hopefully she'll accept the company.

Good luck and hugs for you! It's a strange mix of emotions but youre doing the right thing x You're putting Smudge first and also giving a loving home to another piggie x

Lots of luck finding a new friend! I know it's emotionally hard when you're not quite ready emotionally, but remember it will be the best for Smudge, and given time you will build a totally different relationship with the new addition.

Good luck !

I'm sure Cookie will have wanted Smudge to have a new companion too .

Hope all goes well with the new sow, it's certainly the best choice to make, though I do understand the mixed emotions x

I had to get a new pig within a week of losing fizzy pop ( the pig in my avatar, one of my favourite girls) and it was hard but pebbles , the remaining pig, was going downhill really quickly. The girl I got is now very special in her own right and although I struggled at first it was the right thing to do for pebbles, she picked up straight away.

I've just gotten two beautiful girls. Seeing them made my heart melt.

I love them slready; I miss Cookie so much but... These guys are lovely. I was going to get one... But saw the other and I couldn't stop myself.

On the way home to introduce them to Smudge. I'll post pictures and show you them; they're so lovely.

They advised to put them straight together when I get home, introduce them immediately. Thy said since Smudge is young; it's very good bet she'll accept them as she really needs the companionship.

I don't know as you know they don't always get on, it depends on the girls you have just got too, but wishing you all the best and hoping that it goes as easy as it did for us when we bonded our boars :)

This is so lovely. Smudge us so happy and busy grooming them them and showing them lettuce while they all introduce. All gone absolutely brilliantly with no signs of aggression from any of them. Smudge looks so much better. And it's lush to have a herd.

Brilliant news! It's lovely having a mini herd isn't it :)

It's fantastic! Okay; there was a little bit if a wheek when Smudge decided to jump over one, but I've seen no teeth chattering, nothing of the sort. This is going extremely well.

Don't worry about little squeaks and weeks. I am currently getting a lot of this from my baby Ellen who I introduced to my older piggies last week. It's just the younger ones saying 'don't hurt me'.

That's good. One of my girls Peaches always wheeks at the others if they try to move her from her comfy spot haha!

Glad it's going well :)
