Hello everyone and a big "Wuup!" to all the pigs!
Dad just dropped off my mahoosive order of hay and woodshavings from the farm near him (needed his car, too big for us to go and get).
Soooo... after washing everyone, clipping claws and cleaning out all cages, disinfecting as usual and then filling all hay racks/ bowls etc,
I decided to introduce Baby to the massive cage holding Coconut and his harem. She was in a C+C with Brandy-Snap for company (now and then) until she got used to us a little and so we could keep an eye on her as we knew her sister who we couldn't pick up was ill.
So far, everyone is getting on well. Baby seems to be very popular. Cinnamon has adopted her as well, I think x) - she must be some kind of angel-pig! She always wants to look after any new, younger pigs and I am extremely proud of her.
We only had one incident when Marble nose-butted her and she squeaked (probably scared), but Cinnamon (Marble's mum) quickly told her off and is now sitting with Baby on the super-pet bed x>>.
The next step will be her moving in with Pancake after his 6 week safety period is up. She'll be going with Brandy-Snap as they are already good friends. OH is already calling her our daughter as well lol. So we have 3 piggy-sons, 5 piggy-daughters, 4 piggy-granddaughters and 1 piggy-grandson.
Oh by the way, some sad news. Baby's sister who I was also meant to pick up on the 9th September has passed away. The woman (prev owner) took her to the vet right after we picked up Baby. She didn't think it was fair to give us a piggy that was ill and would need treatment. She was on quite a few meds, don't know what they were but she just wasn't strong enough to fight whatever it was off.
At least I know she had friends, not from the same litter, but other sows she was living with and at least she was given a chance and taken to the vet when she needed some help. Shame I never got to meet her though, we were expecting to go and pick her up when she was better. At least she isn't suffering anymore, I suppose. We would have called her Bonsai. Don't really feel as though I have the right to make a Rainbow Bridge thread for her as she didn't end up being my piggy-daughter.
Here, we have new friends. Coconut (my white sheltie piggy-son), Cinnamon (my self buff piggy-daughter) and Baby (my new himi piggy-daughter).
