Is gutted!
Today I had to have one of the babies put to sleep =[
I'd noticed that her tummy had become quite large over the last two days, before hand she'd been completely fine and healthy! But did think this was strange and to be on the safe side I booked her into the vets to get checked over and to see what was wrong.
Naively I thought she might have abit of constipation and they would give me something to help her poo...
Well I visited the vet today and sadly the outcome was not one I was expecting.
The vet said she had a mixture of constipation, and bloat and thought she might also have an underlining problem going on inside her gut with how inflamed her tummy was.
I told her how it had come on all of a sudden and how she was fine a few days ago.
She said she was quite lethargic and didn't look particularly well and suggested a few things they could try that might help, one of theses was a gut movement drug pus some antibiotics to hep if she was in any pain... As she went off to fetch all this the guinea pig took a massive turn and I kid you not in a space of a few seconds she went from being ok, to nearly dead! She was stretching her whole body out and pulling her head right back.
When the vet came back I was like "I think she might be dying" The vet was really shocked at how fast she'd gone down hill and said she was clearly too poorly and too young to really try much else and at that stage, with how she was putting her to sleep was the best option!
We was both quite shocked at what had happened, the vet said she was obviously alot more unwell than we thought and that just the stress of being there tipped her over the edge!
I then had to make the hard phone call to tell my dad that she'd died! He was going to have her and was so excited about it, he picked her out from day one.
He thought she was really pretty and was more gutted than me when I told him =[
