Hello! I know I haven’t been very active on here recently, but I just wanted to pop in and ask; does anyone know any places to get Guinea pigs in Crete? We’ve only found a pet shop so far, and I’m not going to buy from one if I can help it. Thanks!

Hi and welcome back

I am very sorry but there are no rescues in Greece nor is there much in the way of breeding or welfare regulation and most vets of any sort have no idea about guinea pigs, which is the feedback we have got from the odd cries of help from that part of the world. There are now some exotics vets but they are mostly only in the largest cities.

I am wishing you all the best but you may find that your options are extremely limited and more comparable to conditions I remember from 30-40 years ago.
