Well he has a UTI and they prescribed him BACTRIM/SULFATRIM as an antibiotic for 14 days and MELOXICAM as an anti-inflammatory for 7-10days. He had tints of blood in his urine.

Poor boy! I hope that the meds will take care of it; they are what I would recommend. Bactrim (US) and septrin (UK) both contain the same active ingredient, as do metacam and meloxicam (which are an anti-inflammatory/painkiller). Brand names can differ in various countries.

If you can, give him more vitamin C and some probiotics about 1-2 hours after you have given the antibiotic.

Could I find the probiotics at my local pet store or do I need to go back to the vet or maybe I can find a low dose at the local pharmacy?

Can you call your Vet and see what they have ? We use Avipro or Fibreplex:

Baytril is harsh on piggies tummies as it knocks the good bacteria out as well as the bad causing the infection so keep a close eye on Mr. Bailee Boy's food intake.
You may need to syringe top up food into him if he loses his appetite :( Septrin is a much kinder ABX and widely used here in the UK for UTI's.
Sending lots of healing vibes to Mr. Bailee Boy for a speedy recovery x>>
