I was grooming my piggy today and I noticed from her hips to her bottom her spine protudes. I weight her every other day, she hasn't lost any weight. I'm not sure on her age. I was really concerned about her. Any ideas on what could be wrong? She is a long hair and I'm having a hard time get a pic of of this.

How much does she weigh?

And what do you mean exactly by the spine protruding?
She's just under 2 pounds. From her hips down I can feel her spine and on the sides it slopes down from her spine to her body. I am attempting to get a picture of this

So she's about 900 grams?
I wouldn't feel that's a bad weight.
With the spine you should be able to feel it, but not excessively, I.e. It should feel protected by layers of fat.
I have a very poorly pig and his spine is very prominent with little protection as he is very underweight.

The best advice until there is a picture would be to locate yourself a decent cavvy savvy vet and book her in for next week for a check up to be sure all is okay.

How old is she? one of mine who lived to 8 had quite prominent hips/back bone by the end of her life despite being a good weight. Do you think she has changed shape recently?
