I've realised, reading over a couple of threads, I miss the background noise too. The shuffle of hay being dragged around the place, a carrot cottage unceremoniously smacked against the cage sides, excited squeaks, the wheeking and most of all...the rumbling. There's nothing quite like a boar rumble when they get started...you could almost feel the vibrations over the floor.
What do you guys think of when you think of background piggy noise?

The sound of them running around the cage.
The noises they make to each other.
The loud wheeking when they know someone is there and they want food

My partner really hates the sound of humans eating, especially crunching. But he says that there's no better sound than listening to the piggy boys crunching through their morning veg.

Background piggy noise to me is:
Dooting around the cage
Rustling in the hay
Tink tink tinking on their water bottles.

Zoomies and rumbling is more of a foreground noise in our house as they're so loud!

Toffee rumbling and Fudge submissively squeaking.
The girls wheeking QUITE LOUDLY every time a bag is rustled 😳 actually that’s more foreground noise!
Being greeted when I come in from work. Toffee is really the only one who does that. He starts chatting 😊

When we went away in July and I put them up in a hotel, I didn’t realise how much they’d become a part of us. The atmosphere in the house was odd without them, and I kept forgetting they weren’t there when I’d say hello as I walked past. Our youngest missed them (and his cousin) and wanted to see them...the first day of the holiday 😳🤣
Oops that’s become an essay, sorry! 🤭

I live in a three-storey home - the pigs are in a far room on the bottom level but I still get background noise! Mostly it's little feets on the coflute/correx floor when they do zoomies  Ceramic dishes clinking and the rattle of the water bottles. And of course the wheeking when they hear the stairs creaking and they know I'm coming down with something delicious for them :D I agree, it's so lovely to know they're there.

George chats away to himself as he rambles round his cage. Quite like hearing that. Sprout trying to destroy his water bottle by pulling as hard as he can while drinking.

How long left until the introduction? I’m terribly impatient so I’ve got to hope it’s soon!

My pigs are in my room and so the top three sounds have to be:
Nibbling of hay and the scrunching sound as they pick the perfect piece from the hay rack
The water bottle rattling about (especially when Willow drinks, think she wakes the whole block of houses up when she drinks at night)
The squeaks when they hear the stair gate shut and they know it's veggie time 🤣

When my lot have free ranging in the lounge (not often as OH doesn't like it for reasons best known to himself) Christian is always letting everyone know where he is and the others do too but much quieter. While they do come in for cuddle time every night (I have outside piggies) they are usually in an indoor run when the OH is around so hardly make any background noise as they can all see each other.
