I Noticed today, that my GP Boris, has some white discharge coming from one of his eyes, I will take him to the vets tommorrow, but I was just wondering, if anyone knows whot it could be and if there is anything I should do, before going to the vets.
Thanks Annette

If it is bright white it could just be what they use to clean themselves, or it may be a blocked tear duct, conjunctivitis. they are easily treated with eye drops O0 good luck sorting him out x

I agree with the above - its mostly nothing to worry about and mine do this sometimes in the summer :)

This is a picture of my sheylanar in the summer with discharge from her eye - not a very good piccie but is it like this ? ?

Well, i cannot say for sure as i havent seen your piggy personally but sheylanars eye cleared up after a day or so O0

I understand that you cant say for sure, but thanks for your help anyway, I wil keep a eye on him, and take him to the vets, if he needs to go. :) :) :) :)

Its fine - should be nothing to worry about O0 :smitten:

If it stays crusty for more than 2 days or if it closes up a little i'd get him to a vet O0 x

totally agree that it could just be what they clean themselves with, my pansy has that sometimes, but defo a good idea to see a vet just in case :-* if it is conjunctivitis, it's easily treated as Emma said O0 :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:
How is the little guy today? sending piggie kisses for you both :-*

A Milky substance comes out of the eye for them to clean themselves with, any other colour I would go to the vets. :) I notice it more on my black pigs, Twinkle, Flora, Eccles all seem to have it more so than Sunshine, Pudsey, Flora, Amber and Pearl. :)

Thanks everyone for all your help, I hope you dont mind me asking questions, but I am still learning a lot about gps
Boris seems ok today, but I will still keep a eye on him, just in case.
Thanks again for all your help :) :smitten: :) :smitten:

ask as many questions as you like, that's what we're here for! :D I'm glad you want to know it's better to look after them well :smitten: aww glad he seems ok :-* :smitten: did you see a vet? :smitten:

Yeah, I did take him to the vets, but because Boris's eye was looking ok and there was no discharge, the vet really didnt help me much, he said as everyone on here said, it could be just cleaning the eye, and if it gets worse to bring Boris back, which of course I would do. :) :) :)

Thanks, thats so sweet of you, :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: Boris sends :-* :-* :-* :-*to you and the girls
