bad eye

hi everyone

one of my female piggies has got a bad eye. the ball has gone completely white and looks quite sore. Just wandering what i can do to help her before i get her to the vet. being an easter weekend mine are shut till tuesday
 
Does your vet have an emergency number? I have a wee sow that injured her eye a couple of weeks ago and was advised to take her straight in. The vet confirmed that eye injuries need to be seen to as soon as possible. Chances are you will need the eye to be thoroughly examined and have some sort of antibiotic ointment. Other than bathing it with sterile saline there's not much you can do, visiting a vet is a matter of urgency.
 
she is 2 next month, just phoned the vets and thankfully the answer phone said they are open on the morning so will get her down first thing(keep thinking it saturday today as hubby off).

Yes daftscotslass probably not cateracts then.

Hope if its an injury they can give some drops to help it heal.
 
one of my youngest pigs has the same problem her eye is white with a lump at the bottom of her eye.

i can try and find an emergency vet is there anythink that i could give her to help.

I'm so worried about her shes next to me and been separated from my other to female pigs.
