one of our piggies, the white one which got a few months back, who was underweight and a lot of hair loss has a bad eye- he's got an appointment at the vets @ 2, but i just wanted to ask. One of his eyes, just under the lid, his eye ball is swollen, but huge, but is like a lump and i am just wondering what it could be?

I'm sorry I haven't a clue but wanted to wish you good luck at the vets and hope it's nothing serious.:)

vet said it could be fatty eye, but she said that she doesn't want to miss it as a tumour either - i have to give him eye drops twice a day and give a week or so to clear, if it's hasn't i need to take him back.

Aww I hope it is just fatty eye and the drops clear it up. Fingers and everything crossed that's what it is.

yeah i hope so. i asked her to cut his nails, cos out of all the piggies he is the hardest to do - £10 to cut them, which i think is a lot on top of the consultation and eye drops.

Bloomin heck that's a bit steep to cut some piggy nails.:o Don't think they charge that at my vets to cut dog ones.rolleyes I do mine myself with those clippers you can buy from pets at home.

I had an elderly piggie with a fatty eye. The eyeball wasn't swollen, just that the lower lid looked drooped and a white line under the eye was showing.

It didn't appear to cause any discomfort, just a bit unslightly.

Hopefully the drops will clear up any infection, if there is any.

Keep us posted.
