Bad Slave Moment

My Guineas want to lodge an official complaint because of the meager breakfast they got this morning.

Something went wrong with our fridge last night and their coriander and cucumber were frozen solid. Their peppers looked dodgy and have been declared fit for human consumption only.

I managed to scrape together a bit of kale and dill. I found a bit of grass as compensation - but they 're still not happy :td:

I' m going shopping later today - promise :tu:

You did your best Lisa with what you had. Even if the piggies don't appreciate it!
You'll just have to get their favourites to make it up to them! I always have a bag of Nature's Salad in from Wilko's for just such an occasion and my 5 snaffle it up! Sometimes they have it for a treat too!

I have discussed this with widget and chickpea and (unfairly in my opinion) they don't feel you did enough. They feel the fridge going wrong is just excuses and want to know why you didn't immediately go to the shop for supplies? Also they want to know where is their lettuce as that's what they expect in payment for their advice.
Piggies demand more from their slaves!

Poppy, Holly and Mabel have also suffered this dreadful experience and heard the same explanation from their slave, too. They wish to share their disgust with your piggies. They reminded me that in our case it was the Male slaves overloading the fridge with bottles of beer that caused the problem. I’ve reassured them it won’t happen again, but your post brought back awful memories of a breakfast of dandelion leaves only for them. If the humans can’t ensure a safe (unfrozen) stash of readily available veg it’s a pretty poor show.
PS Hope you don’t need a new fridge.

... I would have thought a bit of grass would be a fair compensation . ?

I think it might have been the male of this household overstocking the fridge with cider . There has been talk of our piggies getting their own fridge ....

I didn't have any veggies this morning, so my poor deprived piggies () had to wait a few hours until I came home for lunch.. They both chattered their teeth at me! I bring them punctual breakfasts and post-med snacks every single day, and the one time I'm late I get chattered at?! I certainly learned my lesson..

we're :own:

I am also a bad slave. My lot didn't have any little gem leaves this morning as I forgot to buy some and we ran out yesterday. I went out first thing and bought some and they did eventually forgive me... :soz:

Well I have put this to them. They replied that while they were happy you pigs got grass as this was compensation your poor deprived piggies should have had this as well as their veg.
Let's face it you can't win with pigs and according to them you can never feed them enough.

You can’t negotiate with piggies -they always win.

I feel you on the fridge thing, I need a new one but the old one still functions. Kind of. It doesn't have a cold setting - it has warm and frozen. Veggies don't always survive the fridge.

Blitzen seems to understand there's nothing I can do (and if I figured either of them would be understanding, I would not have picked Blitzen) but Comet is convinced I'm making it up. See, drinks in the door stay cold fine because they're in _the door_, but apparently that's not right because the door is the fridge too.

Wait til he discovers I accidentally froze his kale...

Don't mention the word, and he probably won't notice! :flag:lost the kale, little gem, carrots, some of the blueberries and nearly lost the spinach too. I was -not- impressed. But if I turn the temp down, everything feels warm and I don't trust that it's getting cold at all. My freezer went a few weeks back (it did start working again, sadly) and I was so hopeful it meant I could get a replacement, because my lease means I don't provide the white goods here. I could've cried when it started working again.

Not for my benefit, either. Purely so their veg would stay edible. We have a problem, lol.

I have been guilty of this very same "bad slave" behavior except it was evening meal and all the shops had closed, Coco gave me the mega stink eye and if you had ever seen her stink eye glare you would know you are in massive trouble and seeing nothing but her back turned towards you for the rest of the night. Naturally all was forgiven at morning meal after i'd been to the shops.

Oh gosh. Been there too. Surely I'm not the only one to go and wait outside the supermarket on a weekend for it to open rather than face the pigs with no veg?
