Over a year ago l purchased a 25 lb bale of Alfafa king Thimathy hay, and it was not sutebal for my pigs to eat! It was full of weeds and things not consistent with the usual Alfalfa King ! Thesmaller bags were fine, just this one 25 lb bale!
2 weeks ago l decided to try the 25 lb bales again as they are far more cost effective!
The first bale was from Feedem pet food supplies, and was absolutely fine! I just received the 2nd bale from eBay and it is full of weeds just like the previous mentioned!
Question! Does anyone have a reliable stock of 25 lb Alfalfa King Timothy!
Has anyone else had this problem?

I use hay-and-straw (used to be hay for pets) and they do 9kg bags for £18 delivered. I usually get the ings hay but it can be a bit hit and miss. Never appalling quality but I have had one or two bags that have been a bit less green and more stalky than normal

I get the 9kg bales of Timothy hay from Hay Suppliers uk. I have a new bale unopened and the herd goes wild every time they year the bag rustling. I have also tried the 7kg oat hay from the same supplier and the pigs loved that one as well.

I get meadow hay from my local farm for £4/10kg bale and the above Timothy Hay gives some variation for them, plus I get the 1kg brick shaped compressed blocks of hay for horses for the herd. These require some extra work, but they double up as bordome breakers.

Not an expert on hay, i usually just buy 2 bags of meadow hay from maxizoo and piggies love it or huge bag of fitfun.

I get my hay from timothyhay.co.uk too after getting fed up with the poor quality of hay from PAH. Delivery is super fast and the hay is lovely and green. You may find you’ll have to sweep up every time you give them a fresh pile though as the strands are super long and it’s very compact :)

I’m looking for somewhere to buy good healthy hay from. Recently got Timothy hay from PAH and it is dreadful, dark brown and has an odd smell. I’ve been disappointed with hay from stores, I will try timothyhay.com Thank you for your recommendation.

Thanks l will try there thimathy :like:

do you have a farmers store near you, like Mole Valley stores ,they have hay for sale, and you can see what your buying, make shore its green and smells sweet,(that its not an end of stack bale),thats a sign that it was havested with out rain, the later, witch makes the hay go yellow and mouldy and not fit to use for your piggies.

Thanks yes I have a Mole Valley 45 minutes drive away, thanks for your suggestion

Ooh that does look nice. I really will have to order some this week. Still buying the stuff from my local pet shop and it is very hit and miss with the quality.
I took my bad quality back to PAH this morning, the member of staff I saw was in agreement with that it was dreadful hay, I was refunded. I have this morning orders the 9Kg bag from Timothy HayUK. I contacted them yesterday to ask if it could be delivered on a day I will be in, got a email back within a hour to say yes. They were most helpful.

The stuff I get is ok, it's just a bit dusty and brown. I want them to have better and it will actually work out cheaper. I can't wait to order mine. Will be doing it Wednesday. Eileen and Baxter are going to love it, I'm sure :D

Placed my order this morning with timothyhay.co.uk and got an email to say it's been dispatched. How long does it usually take to arrive?

I was told it’s usually one day. Mine is arriving today hopefully, if the snow doesn’t delay delivery.

usually 24 hours,it is very green 2017 batch !

Amazing, it arrived in under 24 hours and I am very pleased with it. Kind of misjudged how big 9kg of hay would be and have no idea where I will store it but, who cares! happy piggy and bunny here :D
