Hi,

I need to know this by tonight so I can get out the veggies for tomorrow, and let them de-frost (is that what you call it from out the fridge?)! :))

Okay, so I've found a pack of leaves in my fridge (sounds random, I know haha), and they contain:-

  • Lambs Lettuce
  • Baby leaf
  • Spinach
  • Rocket

Are all of these edible to Guinea Pigs? I've searched the internet, and so far I've found out Lambs Lettuce and Spinach is okay. What are you opinions?

Like I said, asap would be great, thanks guys! :)

Okay, I've found out that rockets are okay from this thread. :(|)

Now it's just baby leaves... anyone know of these little things? :)

I've fed them to mine with no problems - it's just another type of lettuce
 
It's all fine. Why do you want them at room temperature? They'll go all limp, they're best off in the fridge till serving, unless they're right at the back where they can get fridge-frost and not be eaten by piggies.
 
Can all be eaten. Rocket and spinach should only be an occasional treat rather than a regular part of the diet, but there is nothing wrong with serving them up!

I've heard that if you feed Guinea Pig's cold food they can get diarrhea from it, as it's frozen? :...
Hmm.. I might try keeping them in until an hour or two before I have to give them.

I've heard rocket and spinach are high in..protein is it? And should be fed in moderation. But, as they've never had it before, I thought it'd be okay as a one off thing. :)

all my food comes straight from the fridge. If it is frozen (not chilled), that's a different story.
 
Leafy fridge food warms up pretty quickly! I have never had any problems with serving food from the fridge, but I cut mine fairly small.

Yeah, I usually leave mine whole so they can dig into it, but I was thinking of starting to cut it up, so there's more to go around, if you get me. ;)

Heh - the girls loved them! Gobbled them up very fast. drool

I think I'll give them those again, but not to often. :)
