my newest addition bailey is going to the vet tomorrow :) just for a check -up. I had 2 sister cavies that a lady from one of the forums i belong to gave me. she couldn't take care of them due to health issues. So just before christmas i got kiki and chichi, and put them in my bedroom and quarantined them for 3 weeks. After that i introduced them to my baby girls and my male met them through their cage. On jan 3rd chichi got sick and within 10 mins she passed away :'( then 1 week later on jan 11, kiki had diarreh and i was talking to a vet and she said to make sure to give her fluids with a dropper, so i went to find one from my friend. When i got back, she looked at me and then her body shook and she died :'( so now i'm making sure all the cavies get a check-up, incase they get sick i'll be able to treat them :)

It does sound like they had 'something' before they arrived tho :-\ Great idea to take Bailey to the vets tho, i do hope he's OK O0

well, the visit to the vet went very well. Bailey is a healthy cavy, i just have to change his bedding. He's allergic to the shavings. Has anyone heard of hemp shavings? my vet said to use that instead of the pine i've been using. I can't use aspen shavings because i'm allergic to it :laugh: and care fresh is too expensive :)
 
Thats great to hear he is healthy :) I actually read a thread about the hemp shavings a while ago ;D
