Over 6.5 years ago I brought home 2 terrified, skinny balls of hair to be Ebonys friends, Bailey was the most skittish getting bullied by her sister Pippin leading to Pip being removed and added to the big herd.

Unfortunately this experience lead to an almost entire lifetime of fear aggression and was the reason I didn't have just one big herd, or even 2! Although we did develop a new bonding method which suited her anxiety. Separating her off to watch her friends interacting with the new piggies for a few days, teaching her by example that this new friend was not a danger.. out of necessity after she caused some nasty injuries to poor blind Paddington, and a nasty ear wound to Ebony who was protecting Poppet during her introduction. Luckily she learned to be very good friends with both pigs, allowing her sweeter, gentler side to come out as she aged.

One of the last 4 original piggies I moved to this house with 4 years ago, out of 20, losing miss Bailey has been quite a blow.
Bailey was exceptionally healthy her entire life, needing spaying quite late in life due to cysts but powering through recovery without incident. Unfortunately this year she developed chronic bloating episodes which we managed to keep controlled until the very last couple of days before she passed away.

I sincerely hope you're up there enjoying the company of all your loved and lost friends who passed before you..and I very much hope you forgive me for all the dodgy haircuts over the years, most notably the accidental bald monk look I gave you a couple years back when the clippers slipped 🫣 until next time, my little mate ❤️

So sorry to read this, what a beautiful tribute to a special pig (and what a gorgeous pig too). Those pictures are lovely.

It’s so heartwarming that with your love and care and the guidance of her piggy friends she was able to have a safe, well loved and happy life, as you helped her with her fear,.. it sounds like she got exactly what she needed from you after a rough start in life. What a special bond and what a good long life.

I’m really sorry for your loss.
