Bald patch any help identifying cause PLEASE

Please have your guinea pig vet checked for ringworm. Do NOT hometreat on spec with broad spectrum cheap pet shop products that will only temporarily suppress any problem but not cure it. Be also aware that we are legally not allowed to (nor are we qualified to) diagnose online and cannot replace a hands-on vet visit with a trained vet.

If this has appeared within 2-3 weeks of purchase, you can reclaim any vet cost from the pet shop by presenting the vet bill together with the sales receipt since exposure and infection have happened at the shop. This comes under customer protection rights since you have been basically sold damaged ware. Demand to see the sales managers if staff is trying to fob you off and complain to your local council over trading standards.

Please be aware that ringworm (the most aggressive form of a fungal skin infection) is the single most transmittable issue between all mammals, including humans and other pets. Good hygiene and investing in a vet grade disinfectant that is ideally also proven to kill ringworm spores are vital and as important as any vet care to prevent transmission and re-infection. You also need to treat any companions to prevent them from coming down with ringworm, too. The time between infection and outbreak is 10-14 days.

Please take the time to read this guide here; it has pictures of how an acute ringworm infection is running its course and all the hygiene tips you need to make sure that you get on top of it once and for all. We have learned these tips the hard way, that is why they really work!
