So I have been ill and have been worried to go near the piggies in case its contagious. My mum has been cleaning them out for me as usual, but she wont handle them as she is scared, so for 5 days now, none of the 3 have handled, or checked over properly.

I just got Smudge out as it appeared she had a bald patch on her back. She does indeed have a rather large bald spot, about 5cm by 2cm, maybe a bit more, but the skin looks completely healthy. Its almost as though she has been shaved! I wonder if either she or one of the other pigs have been chewing on the hair, but I have no idea.

Bit hard to get a decent picture as her fur is so shiny! Just wondering if anyone has any ideas about this and if it is anything to worry about or not...

A bald patch can indicate a fungal infection. It is best to have your little one taken to a vet as soon as possible as it can spread quickly and is also contagious. Good luck.

Yes, thats what I was like at first, I said straight away that I am gonna need to someone get her to the vets tomorrow!

But then I thought if it was anything nasty like that, then surely it wouldn't feel like stubble? And its that stubble thats making me guess at either she, or one the others is chewing it. That and where the skin looks and feel normal...
