I've read a lot of comments on bald patches etc so I know what it could be.

Lots of people have different opinions on whether to attempt treatment yourself or take the piggy to the vet.

Bumble has a bald patch, no irritation or redness but she is scratching a little. So i'm thinking it's mites.

Vet or pet shop?

Good that you have booked her in! Shop products are generally too low dosed to work for any treatment; they are only geared towards the prevention.

Bald patches can have quite a variety of reasons, from fungal and mites (and those can look much more similar than you'd expect from the pictures) to others than can also puzzle a vet, not just an owner. Treating just on spec can make things worse rather than better.

Bumble is home after her first of 2 injections for mites.

The vet said it usually worth doing this before taking skin samples etc to try and sort the problem as quickly as possible.

A little squeak as the injection went in but other than that she was a star!

Hopefully after the follow up appointments for both Bumble and Streak next week we will be able to have a little rest from the vets!
