Hi
One of my piggies had devolved bald patches.
The first appeared on bother her hind leds then her sides. The hind leg ones have both regrow mostly but the one on her side have just got bigger
I took her to see a vet and she just tested her urine several times without telling me about it (let alone the cost) nothing happened with that.
Since then she has started going bald in her back I am starting to get abut worried again. Anyone got any advise don't want to go to the vets again to be told its nothing
Thanks

She's a fluffy beauty and your avatar pic is charming - I wish I was good at photos. Anyway, what was I going to say? Oh, yes - mites will cause a lot of scratching! Is she an itchy girl? Is she suddenly jumping to turn and bite at these areas? And if she lives with other pigs they'll probably all be at it because they are catching - but luckily quite easy to treat... if you are in the UK or similar country where you can easily access the proper meds.

If not the bald bits are also in the right place for a hormonal problem like the cysts and I've been told these can sometimes be genetically linked so if she is living with mother/daughter/sister/auntie they might also be showing signs (or not!) It's supposed to be like male-pattern balding in guinea-pigs. We've never had this issue personally... mites, we know!
