its possible a hormonal change I had one that lost it, the vets checked her out for mites etc but she came back clear she lost it through her hormones, best get it checked though in case its mites
What breed of piggy? It could be hormonal but it could also be a skin problem. Any other symptoms? Check out www.gorgeousguineas.com under indentification. With her being so old I would also be tempted to get her checked too- by a rodentologist though not a vet. Ring Vedra at the Cambridge Cavy Trust on 07721 026401 she will be able to tell you your nearest one and give you her thoughts about your problem. She is the best there is. Have bullet points ready to tell her exactly what the problem is and a pen and paper to jot down her response!
