Hello. Chewbacca hasn’t been feeling himself today, barley walking around and just lying down. I noticed he has a bald spot right above his left eye. I need to schedule an appointment, but as of now is there anything that I should do? Is it a fungal infection?

It's likely to be fungal. Please do not put anything on it until a vet has diagnosed as you could be "cleaning the crime scene" so to speak and making it harder for the vet. Looks like you have caught it early though

Hi!

I am very sorry to hear that!

Please have Chewbacca vet checked ideally today but latest tomorrow if he is not well at all.
Follow the care tips and information in this guide here, which includes all emergency care links and advice. Monitor his weight daily and step in with syringe feeding support if needed. Keep in mind that hay should make over 80% of the daily food intake, and that you cannot control that by eye. Emergency, Crisis and Bridging Care until a Vet Appointment

Please don't touch the spot and do not treat, as that can make a diagnosis impossible. Be aware that if Chewbacca is not well at all and is not eating properly that the fungal outbreak is likely the result of a lowered immune system/illness and not the cause of it.
Fungal (there are other less contagious forms than ringworm) is an opportunistic issue that specially hits the young, pregnant, ill/frail and old.

I’ve managed to get an appointment. However his breathing is crackly and right eye switched every now and then. At one point he started shaking from the twitching. I’m very concerned...

Ask for an emergency appointment if your booked appointment isn’t today.
Most vets know that guinea pigs can’t wait.
Keep us posted
