My guinea pig has some sort of dark skin protrusion that kinda looks like a tick on a spot between her leg and torso(inner thigh/hips). The thing is she's never been outside and I don't have any other pets (we're working on getting her a sister, but it's been difficult given the pandemic). What is this?!

Thank you all for your replies and advice. I feel much calmer and a bit silly, but I'm glad I asked. :)

That's a nipple. Guinea pigs only have two, and boars have them as well. Color can vary, just like anywhere else on the coat. No worries, perfectly normal!

It's probably best for you to contact a veterinarian with this problem. He will look at it and know exactly how to treat it. The faster you do it, the better. Ticks are one of the most numerous groups of arthropods that have lived on our planet since its inception. They multiply very quickly, so their number cannot be counted. In the warm season, they are active, and in winter they are dormant, so ticks are dangerous for dogs approximately starting in April and ending in mid-autumn. Completely protect your pet from infection with a tick will not work.My dog manages to catch ticks often and my vet advised me to flea and tick collars for dogs and they really helped me.
This is not a thread about dogs. Our links are set as no follow by the way :)
