Hello everyone! I noticed on Monday that my new female Guinea pig Raisin had a bald spot under her chin and what feels like a lump. I've been watching the lump just to make sure it doesn't grow because I can not afford a vet for a few more weeks. Yesterday I noticed my male hamlet, who lives in a separate cage and has no contact with Raisin, also has a bald spot under his chin but much bigger. Hamlet does not have a lump under his chin though so I'm assuming the lump and bald spot are not related. The spot looks pink with like redder bits in the middle like hair was pulled out. It's in a difficult spot to actually examine so I'm not sure if it's mites or they're both being picked on by their cage mates. I'll try to get a picture of Hamlets spot in the morning but this is Raisins. image.webp

I've been checking on Raisins lump and there hasn't been any change until today. Her lump is pretty mich one but now there's this scab with missing fur. I think it was an abcess that ruptured does it look ok? image.webpNimage.webp

If it is an abscess that burst it will need cleaning out and strong antibiotics otherwise it will just fill up again. I would get to a vet to have it dealt with
