Balls for Piggies ??

Hi all not been on for ages, must post some piccies of my little stiggy wiggy and fudgey dudgey.

Wanted to ask, I have never put them in a clear rotastak ball for exercise, but some suggested using one for when I go away to our caravan and I wondered whther they were safe to use of if anyone has used them, I have 2 abbys and they are small in size so was wondering if a rat size ball would be safe if possible to use them for small amounts of time.

I just worry about there feet.

So good suggestion or absolutely not stay away from them ...lol

Ive not heard of balls for piggies... only for rats gerbils and hamsters in fact, i dont think ive seen one that would fit a piggy comfortably!

Could you invest in a small children's play pen and use vet bed and newspaper to protect the floor underneath?
 
Thanks for the quick replies, no I didn't think you could use them I screwed my face up when it was suggested to me ...lol

They have a hutch at the back our caravan so they are fine when we go and have a caged area to play in in the summer.

It was the winter really we keep them safe inside when the weather was bad/cold when we go, they have the run of the caravan but they do hide in some strange places ...lol and wanted to be able to get them easily to put to bed of a night.... lol

Ooh I don't think they would like it, my hammy doesn't like them and I feel bad enough for putting him in it even though I only do it when I am cleaning his cage, my dwarf loved it though.

Don't think pigs are suitable for balls/wheels. They prefer veg! :(|)

my hamsters hate the ball and stay still when theyre in it sulking til we get them out!
 
I always felt bad for hamsters that we shoved in balls, they always used to look really shocked when they smashed into the door frame or something :( poor things
 
Piggies in balls definitely not but my hams absolutely love their balls & never want to go back into their cages. They come to the doors of their cages & will walk into their balls & Wren especially will purposely bump into doorframes or come looking for me & get under my feet :))
