I was just wondering I read somewhere that bananas are ok for GPs, but should you peel them first? I imagine you should but not sure!

I wouldn't give them all the time as they can cause constipation. Maybe once a week or fortnight.

I always peel them. :)

Be careful though as bananas have alot of frutose in it (natural sugars) and I'm not sure if it would be too sugary for the piggies. I'm sure it will be fine in small doses.

I feed bananas occasionally. When piggies are in the run, I peel the bananas but when they are in their hutches I don't peel them as the woodshavings get stuck to the banana.

I have read that you can feed peeled or unpeeled, but not all pigs like them.

Mine absoloutly love bananna.. if i happen to be eating one and go in my room they all shoot up and start wheeking at me! lol

they only get it as a treat though i give it approx once a month

Thanks for all your replys I might try a slice as a treat ... see how it goes down.

I give my piggies some but very rarely but when i do they don't seem to eat it all because i think the smell puts them off :)) I peel them too
