Morning all, Bandit has to have his back teeth rasped yesterday and has come out of this well, happily munching his greens this morning. My problem is the vet has advised that his teeth should be checked every 8 weeks, which isn't a problem but if he continually needs his teeth rasping under anesthetic this isn't good for him or my bank account.I have read all the advice on how to keep his teeth healthy and there isn't anything we don't already do. I am in Bedford and would like to find a vet that can offer this service without anesthetic. Please if someone can help me find one it would be greatly appreciated by myself, Bandit and the Bank Manager.

Could you travel to Northampton? Simon maddock is brilliant with guinea pig teeth and can do dentals without the need for anaesthetic. He has worked wonders on a Guinea pig I recently took in with dental problems.Tagging @furryfriends (TEAS)

I could do but my husband is the only driver. Bandit has been back for post op check this morning and our vet definitely won't do it without anesthetic, but they did say he might not need it again I'm not convinced.

Simon is amazing! People travel the length and breadth of the country to see him with their piggies. By doing the conscious dental treatment and keeping on top of the problem, in many cases the dental issue completely resolves.

We run a sanctuary for guinea pigs with ongoing dental issues and could not do what we do, without Simon.

The cost of the dentals are very affordable too

I used to regularly travel to Simon from Letchworth so I think Bedford is nearer. Took us about an hour and a half in the car. We used to go about every 7 weeks with 2 pigs that had incisor issues. It really is worth the trip. My partner has also travelled by train from Euston.
