Junior Guinea Pig
When I got my peruvian girl Carmen, the rescue warned me that she was a self-barbering pig (which was evident by the way she'd eaten the majority of her hair from the shoulders down!) and she might nibble the hair of the others. I've had her for about 3 months now & everything was going fine but I've now spotted skin showing through the hair on the head & shoulders of my two aby girls & on closer inspection their hair is slightly shorter & thinner in these spots. I can't see any evidence of mites & the other pigs who are all short-haired are fine. Is this Carmen barbering again!? Is there any way to stop her doing this or will I end up with shorn pigs? Thanks. x
