Hi All

I noticed yesterday that one of my piggies has a bald scaly patch in front of her ear and near her eye. Today it looks like it got slightly bigger. Its not red or sore looking more just bald and dry and a little bit flaky. Anyone got any advice? (ps I live in Greece and have no local vet for guinea pigs!)

Thanks

thanks for the reply. As the vets is quite a trek for me and the piggies I was thinking of treating with Daktarin cream and Nizoral shampoo, both for humans but I have researched based on fungal that this treatment is very successful for piggies.

I don't want to do something that might hurt them - has anyone tried these treatments?

Thanks again.

I have

I have tried Sakharov with success:(|) and no side effectS check the hair near the bald patch though as if it is broken mid shaft the piggy may also have mites,:o which are very dangerous but you can buy a cheap spot on treatment that I found very effective beaphar anti parasite spot on for about five pounds contains four doses.xx>>>

BUMP ...........

hoping someone else can advise.........

tho if you could take some pigtures it would really help everyone....... i know how hard it is for you to access a vet :(
the only thing i can think of is........be careful that nothing gets in the eye so maybe if you are using a cream carefully take a little dob of the cream onto a cotton tip/cotton bud as they'll not spread the cream :)
