My girls empty their food bowl overnight, but the hay is hardly dented. That's a complete opposite of what our old girl was like. Should I be worried? It's Timothy hay.
Are the poops normal? Has she eaten any hay at all? Or is there something wrong wth the hay? I have days where I notice Mo has eaten less hay but then he'll eat it all the next. However if it's totally our of character I would see a vet. It could be something wrong with her teeth. How old is she?
I don't really know what's normal for them, they've been here less than 2 weeks, both young. They eat veggies and Burgess nuggets without complaint. The hay gets changed every day but they don't eat much of it at all. I'd say poops are normal.
If you live in the UK I know that where I am it's getting quite warm and that can make Mo's appetite lessen. I wouldn't worry just yet. Make sure she eats her veges tonight and is still eating pellets and then replenish the hay tomorrow and see if she likes it more. Do you always buy Timothy or have you only just changed? And what do you feed your piggies usually as in what is your daily routine I'm terms of food?
Always Timothy over here, it's what my old piggies liked best. So fresh hay and nuggets every morning, and veggies at breakfast and dinnertime. Some mixed leaves every day, and maybe apple, carrot, courgette or broccoli.
Sounds good. and same here I like Timothy because it's less dusty then some. I'll stick with what I said before: I would just watch her and see if she seems more keen tomorrow but do make sure she's eating veg or something in the mean time. If there's no change i would see a vet just to rule stuff out- as said before it could be her teeth but usually you see a change in how they drink or eat veg. Please keep us updated.
