What does it mean when GPs “bark”. I always catch my piggie “barking” like a chihuahua. Though its not continuous, just ones. And it really oddly sounds like a bark. He normally does it when he’s in a playful mood though. What exactly does it mean?

I’ve never heard a piggy ‘bark’. I would get him checked out anyway.

lol I’m sure there’s nothing wrong with him 😂 I’m guessing it’s just a happy sound he makes.

do you think maybe it could be a cough? Coughs are a normal noise that could sound like barking - they're not something to worry about unless they're doing it often (it's usually just some food in their throat that they're trying to get rid of)

That's all I can think of which is a normal guinea pig noise.

Hi there. Does your piggie wiggle its tail if you hold a stick to it?
Or does zoomies when you say the word. Walk?

(Sorry I couldn't resist) :lol!:

I’ve never heard piggy communications described as barking (humans yes, piggies no).
Have a listen to the sounds on this website and see what it sounds closest to. Most piggy noises are contextual so you have to look at what they are doing when your hear the sound or be sure, Guinea Pig Sounds
