Just want to learn really, please post below.
Also, what happens if you only have one guinea pig?
xx

You cannot have just one guinea pig. It would be very lonely and depressed. If you want to know more about guinea pigs then I would google guinea pigs. There is so much to know that it would not be possible to say it in one thread.

Ok, I will look into it now:)

As mentioned above, guinea pigs are best kept in pairs or more, otherwise they will be very lonely.
The basics are a large cage (as large as possible, but minimum of 120cm), unlimited hay and water, pellet feed (instead of muesli) and vegetables! Guinea pigs like to hide and burrow too so things like tubes and boxes for them to run through and hide in are good as well as boxes of hay for them to burrow in. There's so much you can learn from looking through the forum, so feel free to have a nosey around and learn as much as you can :)

I too am thinking of rehoming some piggies but have never kept them before so am looking for lots of advice too. I have rabbits and thought it would be the same. I never realised you had to wash guinea pigs! so Ive learnt something already!

Oh great :). Welcome to the world of guinea pigs! Good to know you are doing your research first! I know a lot of people don't bath guinea pigs. They don't necessarily need it, unless they are long haired, smelly or have a skin condition, but they are cute when they're all soggy :)).

Guinea Lynx is also a good site to search through for information
This may be handy http://www.guinealynx.info/healthycavy.html

I think with piggies the best place to start is to research housing as this is where most people have the biggest misconceptions, then look at diet. :) From there you may see other tangents you need to research.
