Bathed both foster guineas now what?

Evening.
Well when I got back after a day out tonight I have shampooed both guineas in lice and easy. Takes a while doesn't it? Lather, rinse, lather and leave for 5 minutes then rinse whew!

I have to say both girls were really very well behaved. Better behaved than my peruvians when I bathed them. I have towelled them off as good as I could but didn't want to blow dry them.

I have a 2 x 2 c&c cage that I have put vet bed in and food, hideys etc and put the heating on and plan on keeping them indoors tonight to dry off properly.

Do I need to do anything else? I towelled them as much as possible but they weren't very dry afterwards. is that okay?

Tomorrow I have the super souffle cream for one of them as a bit down her spine looks short of hair in places, not sure if it's fungal or she's had a haircut from her cagemate. No cuts or scabs but it does look a bit dry.

It's a warm night, they should be just fine. As long as they aren't shivering, they'll potter about as normal and dry off naturally very quickly. I tend to do an initial towel-drying session, then every 15 minutes (maybe twice) give them another light rub-down with the towel.

I find the skin treatments to be quite tedious at times - five minutes seems like an hour when you just want to get the pig rinsed and dried!

I've put a big bowl of veggies right by their hidey and put the light off in the kitchen where they are so they feel they can come out and eat. Going to check on them in a while and see how they are doing.

Yes it did feel a while and I felt sorry for them sitting there covered in later.

OH whilei'm asking questions - what's the best method for getting it off their faces. One of them spluttered a little and i didn't like that. It's quite hard to get it off their face!

A flannel (facecloth) tends to be the best trick. I like to have it wet, but not dripping; it's just enough to wipe the lather off without soaking piggies face.

I try to pass the time by wrapping piggie in a towel and cuddling her, while emptying and refilling the bath water, tidying up any shampoos that can be put away etc.

Good idea. I put one of them in a carry case and did the other one in the meantime but next week I may take it slower and do that instead as it seems kinder.

Right a flannel for next time.

Just had to update and say WOW!

The 2 bathed last night now have the most awesome hair, it's so glossy and gorgeous

I have just ordered some shampoos from gorgeous guineas for my other girls. Posh and go for the long hair and the rainforest one for the others. Amazing results!

It's gorgeous, isn't it? The day after their baths is the best - you get the great smell and the glossy, silky locks. I do love Gorgeous Guineas shampoos.

I have just been to the salon for a treatment and a cut and blow dry - i was feeling neglected. My locks are now as glossy as Bessie and Gypsy's! |)|)|)
