I wanted to give my boys a bath in a few days after having being treated with xeno, is this ok to do? I’m worried it will effect the treatment

What were they treated for? And was it a vet that said you’ll have to bath them after a few days? From a search it looks like 48 hours wait at minimum, so Sunday.

Why do you want to bath them? Are they really that dirty? Piggies are self cleaning so shouldn’t need bathing too much, unless maybe recommended as part of treatment.

They have lice, I thought it may help to get rid of dead lice and eggs

Did they give you a second dose to administer? I would check for them when you next do the health check to see if they’re dead. You may have to administer a second dose if not.

Our four had lice and I didn’t have to bathe them. It probably wasn’t that extreme a case but still I don’t know that bathing them will help much.

Unless it is absolutely necessary I would complete the full course of treatment before giving them a bath.
How many treatments did the vet recommend?

They didn’t which many have told me they should. It cost £14 per guinea pig for the treatment and I’d have thought that they would’ve provided more for home use as you said. I’m back there on Tuesday so I may argue this

Just the one they provided non to take home

Best discuss it with them as if you have lice or mites you usually need 3 courses - one to kill the live squatters, the second to kill any hatchling squatters, and a third to kill any persistent squatters missed by the first dose.
