ive kept multiple rabbits for 30 years and in all that time I have only had one who is really happier alone. All can be rebonded when their companion passes and are then happier again. You really see the difference in them when they get a new friend in their life

You can teach yourself what to do look for when it comes to sexing, but it’s not the same as having the hands on experience given it needs a hands on check to be able to do it

I'm trying to get another rabbit but as I've said before, it's hard where I live because most rabbit rescues or guinea pig rescues are in L.A. Which is an area where I live no where close to. I might be able to get a rabbit from my friend but she only has her adult rabbit.

id keep looking at rescues and you might get lucky.
I would not encourage your friend to breed her rabbit. It’s just not safe. Plus if her rabbit is adult as you say, she should already have been spayed due to the cancer risk

I don't encourage my friend to breed her rabbit, I think her cousins do. I know they bred their rabbit and they gave her one of the kits. My friend's rabbit actually did get a tumor on her ear but it's either been removed through surgery or the medicine helped.

It’s uterine cancer which is the huge risk for Does which is why they are spayed as youngsters (around 6 months old) so they don’t get cancer (80% risk of uterine cancer in two year old unspayed females)

Can they get it again if it's gone? I should probably tell her to get her rabbit spayed if it can happen again.

a tumour in the ear and uterine tumour are different things. An unspayed female rabbit is highly likely to get uterine cancer as she still has her uterus. The uterus needs to be removed to stop the risk being there. Being spayed won’t stop a tumour in the ear from coming back

Oh okay, I thought you were talking about the same thing. I'll let her know that her rabbit can get uterine cancer.

I am sure it is possible to get a rabbit within a reasonable distance. Most humane societies have them come in on a pretty regular basis.

I live in Southwestern Missouri. I know there is a humane society near by but I looked online and there are only dog and cat adoptions.

You’ll have to consider travelling further afield to get your rabbit a friend.

If you are so set on guinea pigs then sort out your rabbit out first. Then you can look at rescues for the guinea pigs.

How come you’re now allowed to get them? You said before you weren’t allowed and had to do something for the next 45 days. What has changed about your circumstances?

Please remember that many humane society's simply do not have the time to put all the animals on their website.
Plus many will use foster carers if they don't have adequate facilities on site.

The best place to start would be call or e-mail them and explain you are looking for a rabbit to pair with yours, and ask if they can recommend a responsible place or person to contact.

Additionally it looks like there are plenty of rabbit rescue places in Missouri.

They may not be right on your doorstep, but a few hour round trip to make your own bunny happy, and offer a rescue animal a chance of a new life isn't unreasonable. The trip to collect our current male rabbit (to partner our bereaved doe) was 2 hours each way. Including the time spent when we collected him and started the bonding process onsite the whole day took over 6 hours, but was well, well worth it.

I know of members on here who have travelled much further than that to collected adopted pets too, so please don't let a slightly longer journey put you off.

I had a 4 hour round trip x 2 when I adopted Patsy. I took my 2 piggies up to the Rescue, the Rescue bonded them with Patsy and 3 weeks later I went back and collected 3 happy piggies.

Oh no, haha, I'm still not getting them until a month or two. I'm just preparing for them right now.
 
As said multiple times, you need to think about getting your rabbit sorted before considering another pet.
