hi there I was just wondering what advice you would give on bathing my piggies? How often what shampoo to use etc. Also do I bathe them both at the same time or on the same day or totally separately day/time. I want to know exactly how to clean their ears easily as they aren't keen.

Hi :)
Bathing should only really be done when its needed. I bath when ever they start to get a bit mucky or smelly. You need to use a guinea pig or small animal shampoo. This website is highly recommended http://www.gorgeousguineas.com/ It's probably best to bath them on the same day but not together (that would be hard work!) because then they will smell the same and there will be no arguments. When bathing you need to avoid the face and the ears :)

I use a washing up bowl for bathing but other people use the bath tub or just hold the piggy under the tap (not on full blast obviously!). If you use a bowl or bath tub then you need to fill it with not much water. Piggies aren't swimmers so they need to be able to stand up.
Hope that helped x

Thanks for the help I didn't think they would need bathing often but was more unsure of the shampoo business. I used to wash my dogs with tea tree oil and mint shampoo as tea tree oil is a natural flea repellent. I wondered if it would be ok for the piggies and if it would help ward of any mites etc.

I wouldn't use your dog shampoo for guinea pigs; that could cause problems!
Ideally, you bathe your boys at the same time with the same shampoo. if their bum end is very dirty, you can also give them a quick "bum bath" instead of a full blown one.
Here are our tips for bathing, including ears and frequency: http://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk/...-Guinea-Pigs-including-Ears-amp-Grease-Glands

The best shampoos are from gorgeous guineas, which are specifically formulated for guinea pig skin and don't contain any potentially harmful ingredients. Skin parasites are species specific, that is why guinea pigs don't have flies (and why any dog flies can't survive on them). Mites also don't transmit and need the appropriate ivermectin interval treatment after a proper diagnosis from a vet. Please do not home treat with shop products; you can make things worse instead of better, as those products are too low dosed to cure.

The shampoo I used was V05 human stuff lol and I take your point about the piggies skin and hair which is why I was asking for advice on the best to use. I will check out gorgeous guineas and get myself prepared. Thanks, Jo
