Hey

Wasn't sure where to post this, but I was wondering how often you should bath healthy piggies? Some sites say 4-6 weeks, some say twice yearly. I plan to acquiring either smooth coats or abys. How often do you bath yours?

some people dont bath them at all, i bath mine when they start to smell so once every 3-4 months, but last year i did more as i bathed them to treat for mites. its up to you really.

thanks. There's also the grease glands as well isn't there? How often do you need to clean that? I've read you can use washing up liquid?

It really depends on the piggy how often they need bathed. I bath mine when they start to get smelly really.

Yeah, you can use washing up liquid on the grease gland but you must dilute it down a lot with water and make sure you rinse it out properly. You don't want your piggy's skin getting sore.

We use puppy shampoo for our girls which hasn't caused any problems so far , we wash them maybe 3 times a year, whenever they smell really :D

A word of advice, you will get more wet than the actual guinea pig :(|)
