hi how often do you all bath your pigs as my two boars have had one bath since ive had them they are aboiut five months old but they seem really smelly i also got two sows at the weekend and they are a bit smelly but not as much as the boys is it because they know that the girls are about so just produce some sort of smell i wouldnt mind but after being handled i smell to lol
 
I would bath them only if they're smelly as otherwise it really isn't needed unless you have a white coloured pig. If you want to bath them you can and I'm certain that somebody will post a link to some gg shampoo...they always do ;D
 
I agree only if they are smelly or dirrrty ::)

Not too often either as your piggy could end up worse off with dry, itchy and scaley skin other than a dirtty piggy which is not as bad :D

I dont really bath mine as mine are outside and some are inside a shed and dont really smell to be honest although every now and again the boars let off a horrid smell to attract the sows ::)

I think if they don't have any skin problems that need sorting out a couple of times a year would be OK.

I have bathed mine today and they havn't been bathed for about three months...they were icky though so I did it O0

If you do it use gorgeous guineas shampoo not one from a pet shop ;) The shampoos from petshops are full of awful chemicals and stuff. Have a look around here; http://www.gorgeousguineas.com/ ;)
 
I bath Gilbert every 4 to 6 weeks as he has a white belly and it gets a bit mucky. currently use a anti parasite shampoo (johnsons) but gorgeous guineas have lots of delightful scents to choose from.

my white pigs grease glad is black.
i have been using swarfega but cant seem to get it off.

any ideas?
 
I bath when need be although bathed Cuzzy every couple of weeks while he was under the vet for mites, probably wasn't the right thing to do as his coat suffered a little but he seems ok now! I had Sunshine in tonight and I have never bathed him, he is an aby but I noticed he was slightly pongy so will bath him in the morning! Never felt the need to bath him or the short haired girls yet. My other boy Twinkle has had a couple of baths he has a white body and does get dirty, but like Cuzzy he lost some of his glossy coat so I leave him now and try and clean him without bathing, not good as he hates grooming!
