Heloo !

I was just wondering but..
Is it essential to Bathe a guinea?
And If so what should the water be like? (Cold, Warm, Hot, coldy warm ect.)

Or can you use wipes? A I have seen in various pet stores. These wipes are designed to clean small animals *guinea pigs, hamsters)

x

toby the water should be like when you have a baby. Test it with your elbow, it should not be hot, but not too cold, just about right, you will get what i mean when you test with your elbow.

i have never used wipes, I would rather bath him, gets him all "squeeky" clean! (sorry people! i couldnt resist!) drooldrool

bathing piggies

i don't bathe my piggies at all. if they have a soiled bottom they get a rump wash but of course i am in oz and conditions in the UK are different to what they are here.
i have never seen wild piggies having baths, but each to their own. if you do bathe your piggies use a little water tepid in temp, and hold onto piggy as they are wiggly and can jump.
whilst bathing your piggy gentle run your hands over their body and feel for lumps and bumps. make sure you towel dry piggy and either sun dry or hair dryer dry on warm.good luck and be warned piggies like to bathe their mummies:)):)):))

I dont think its essential. But will help prevent them getting skin problems:)

I've only ever bathed mine if i had to treat for lice etc and personally keep them inside until dry, dampness attracts flies. Be warned all of mine sulk after a bath and give me those eyes to obtain extra treats

I've only bathed Ruby as she got a bit stinky :... ?/ mallethead She was really annoyed at me for it, she scrambled about the bowel and made a run for it! Luckily I did the bath sitting in our piggie run, with the floor covered in towels! Managed to get her back in the run for a rinse down and then rubbed/cuddled her for a while whilst giving her baby sweetcorn!

NB Make sure no soap/shampoo or water gets in their eyes. x
