I've been giving my guinea pigs a bath (about once a month) with special small animal shampoo that's meant to keep away nasties such as fleas.

The thing is I'm caught between wanting to do what's best for the boyz but at the same time they obviously don't particularly like it.

Thanks to another poster here, I've started doing it in the bath instead of the sink - which seems a little less traumatic.

After their bath I wrap them in a towel with a their favourite jumper wrapped around them too. And they sit quite happily like that watching tv until they are dry.

I'd appreciate opinions :)

My two love the bath. They sit there no problem whatsoever. I don't run it very deep and use my hands to put water over them and use baby shampoo. How deep do you have the water and how hot?

Hiya, sorry for the delay in replying - no internet at the weekends.

I have the water a little cooler than luke warm - I'm so scared of it being too hot.

The water comes up to their bellies.

I do use a water bottle to slosh water down their backs. I thought it would be easier to avoid splasing water in their eyes that way.

I know their previous owner who I adopted them from never bathed them - so maybe they are not used to it.

Thank you.
