After a year and a half of battling cancer, and watching her cagemates die one by one, Oreo has crossed to the bridge ever so peacefully.

She was my longest living piggie at 5.5yrs old. She has kept me on my toes and was there when i needed her the most. She helped me put up with my bitchy former landlord by always giving kisses and nuzzles.

I do not feel sad because I knew it was coming. I do not feel sad because she was a blessing to have in my life. I do not feel sad because she showed that she did love us. I am ever so glad to have called her mine, to have her company, and to have hugged her ladt night. I love the fact that she gave me kisses this morning before lunch. And i love the fact that she proved that she was a fighter, that she showed that she was a gentle soul with rough edges. She will be missed by all.

Now, lets all pour a glass of wine and raise it and toast to Oreo!

((HUGS))- I'm so sorry for your loss. Oreo sounds like such a sweet girl and she was obviously much loved.

Cheers to Oreo!

She was much loved but she had a nasty attitude most often. She was one of a kind and I will miss her. But I believe she knew her time was now as she just went to sleep and never woke up. I am aching on the inside.

Christina she was definitely one of a kind!
Miss Oreo run free at the bridge little girl now reunited with Bugs, Bailie, Mollie and Sadie. Be a good girl and get on with everyone. Enjoy poocorning thru the lush green meadows and munching on all your fav veggies and treats. You'll be very sadly missed by your mom dad and little master but never forgotten.
Another little star now twinkling in the sky :-(

Hugs Christina xxxxxxxxxx
I think she was one very determined little lady. Your ongoing care is what kept her going. An end to an era :-(

I am very sorry for your loss! You have given Oreo a happy and a very long life - in guinea pig terms, the time she was battling cancer equates to nearly two human decades of lifespan! Nevertheless, the actual loss is never easy or any less painful.

RIP Oreo

Out of all 5 guinea pig deaths, I think the one that really hurt my heart the most was Bugs'. I had fought with her health for so long to get her at a healthy weight, to give her a second chance at life, and when she died I wept for days (partly because I was newly pregnant and partMy because she was so so so sweet) after that, when Sadie died, watching bailie mourn and pine for her sister was heart breaking. And the biggest shocker was my trouble maker Mollie. She was the baby at 3 years old and still had life to live. The one death that I was relieved with was Bailie's. She had been pining for her sister for way too long and I count that heart attack as a blessing in disguise. And now with Oreo gone, I am finding this one easier. I guess it's because I was prepping for her death after the cancer diagnosis. All five of my girls were loved so very much and they knew it.

I am so sorry you have lost your wonderful piggy. It is obvious you shared such a wonderful fantastic bond with her. Massive hugs x

Run free at the bridge with your friends little girl.

Sleep well Oreo

I'm so sorry for your loss. Oreo sounds like a real character. It's comforting that she passed peacefully in her sleep. Popcorn free Oreo x

She sounds a right character. Giving kisses but also having a nasty attitude. That's what makes guinea pigs so special. When you really get to know them they all have their own special personalities and all leave a lasting impression on your life.

What happened when they passed? Mine just passed tonight and I felt so helpless I thought she would get better and it happened so fast she struggled a bit and then dropped her head I wasn't sure what happened or if the towel constructed her or her breathing was so upsetting. Doctor had given her a steroid also and I read that was not good very sad

Bugs had health problems from the get go due to being malnourished and left for dead. Her heart failed and she went to sleep and never woke up.

Sadie most likely died of natural causes but I actually suspect something underlying. Again she just closed her eyes and went to sleep.

Mollie was the quickest sudden death I saw. I just happened to stumble upon her during her final moments and said my goodbyes. And she went peacefully.

Bailie well she had a heart attack and died standing up. Honestly it was the most creepiest death poses to come across...

And Oreo just went into her hut to sleep and never woke up, she was very peaceful

i feel very bad about the whole thing
her care did not seem that great and she went downhill very fast
first doc said nothing wrong but gave her a steroid because wasn't eating
took her to second doc a specialist who said she never should have been given steroid but i still couldn't get her to eat - nothing was found wrong or in bloodworm except maybe steroids caused some immune suppression
then the 2nd doctor put her on antibiotics and she developed diarrhea and she died - it as that fast and sad and sudden
she twitched and perked up a lot before she passed so I actually thought she was getting better! No idea what was wrong she was not yet 5

I'm really sorry for your loss. I must add that your words are really lovely... Big big hugs to you. I'm sure Oreo was really happy by your side.
Popcorn free sweet Oreo.

Did you find that they didn't want the syringe food also? Mine really didn't want it. I don't think I knew how to do it right either but tried but she was uninterested.

I never had to syringe feed. They all went either peacefully or put up a fight. They ate and drank up until the day they died.
