Boris went to the vets on Monday for a UTI, and he was prescriped 5 days worth of Baytril 2.5% Oral solution (100ml) per ml X 3.0 however the amount the vet gave me was just enough for the course and at times he's been difficult when I've tried to give him the medicine, so I'm now not left with enough to give him the last days worth. Dilema!

I do have another bottle of Baytril 2.5% Oral solution, however this was for one of my Budgies around 4 months ago, the label reads slightly differently (Baytril 2.5% Oral 15.00 1ml) so I'm wondering if this is suitable to give to Boris for the last day? Would the second bottle still be in date? If not I will call and ask the vet for a repeat and hope he doesn't charge me for another consultation!

Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks :)

Most vet's will agree just to prescribe enough to finish the course you shouldn't have to pay for another consultation, after all it isn't your fault there wasn't enough in the bottle! x

I know that doseage can be different for different types of animals so would be best to ring vets for info. I know that when Mousey was bad with her foot the vet asked it we already had Metacam & I said yes we had some for the cat. With this we had to give 4 drops but we then ran out but found some we got for our dog 4 months ago & only had to give 2 drops of this daily.
