Abby was sneezing and was taken to the vet yesterday. She was sneezing and was giving Baytril medicine. We have a bit lack of directions here and I was not at the vet so you may guess how fustrated this is already....malletheadmallethead:x So I have a bottle of Baytril (22.7 mg/ml) and a 1cc syringe with the following directions... Give 15cc once daily for 10 days..

Should Baytril be refrigerated?

How much do I put in the syringe? .15cc/ml?

Hi and welcome to you and little Abby :)

How old is Abby?

The normal dose for an adult piggie is 0.4ml twice daily and yes usually given 7-10 days :)
Baytril should be refrigerated.
Where are you from?
I'm from OZ and have been on this forum for quite awhile, it's a friendly place :)

2.5% Oral Baytril contains 25mg per ml of the active ingredient. The dose for an adult pig os 0.4ml twice daily.

Can you confirm that you did not mean to put the dose as 15ml?

I give Baytril at the dose rate of 0.2 ml twice a day unless the infection is severe then I go to 0.3ml twice a day.Gp`s do not tolerate Baytril very well so it is important to use the correct dose.

For urti Septrin is the best choice because it is specific .Baytril is broad spectrum so better suited to generalized infection.

Again the dose of Baytril that I specified is widely used and is safe.
What concentration of Baytril do you use?
