Hey,
Bella has recently been on some Baytril as she gets diarrhoea a lot. She's currently taking 1ml plus 1ml of water with it. I was just wondering of there where any side
affects of it and what I should expect.
Thanks a bunch xx

Baytril can cause some tummy issues so I am surprised that she is on it for diarrhoea. It is best to try to give a probiotic whilst she is on it which should offset any effect on her tummy. They should be given at least an hour apart from the Baytril dose though. Examples of probiotics are BioLapis, AviPro and ProC (you can get this one from Pets at Home).

Is she ok in herself? not off her food?

Bella is okay, loving her food and ect. I'm feeding her some parsley now to see if the diarrhoea has stopped. thanks

Diarrhoea doesn't usually have a bacterial cause in guinea pigs and is very uncommon. It would usually be secondary to something else going on or perhaps too many veggies. Baytril is an unsuitable antibiotic for this purpose, but for now I would continue the course you are on. Combating diarrhoea is best done by lots of high fibre foods such as plenty of hay. As for side effects the only thing which people are often concerned about is an imbalance of bacteria in the guts which could cause some bloating or discomfort. It's otherwise a very safe drug.
