Can baytril cause lose of appetite. My little guy's don't even want their green stuff. They are drinking ok. Having a nibble on hay and herbs but that seems to be all.
Yes definately! it can upset tums too. Give bio lapis via syringe 2 hours after baytril to add good flora to the gut. You may need to give critical care as well if you think they are not eating enough.
It sounds like it may be Baytril intolerance. If they are not eating at all, it is likely to be an intolerance. If it's just a slight dip in appetite, but they are still eating their food (just perhaps not quite as much or at a different rate) then it could just be a mild side effect. A different antibiotic - Septrin - is much easier for those piggies who are sensitive to Baytril to handle.
So do I... But it is looking like Blaze does not tolerate Baytril well. He has lost 60 grams over a wheek, but Cinder and Flame's weight has remained steady while they were on it. I am going to tell Scott the Vet this when I see him on Thursday
Eric is on Baytril at the moment. While he's been poorly he's lost 75g in a week. I think he's better now though because he put all that weight back on over the weekend and now I can't stop him eating!
I don't know whether it was the Baytril or the abscess that affected his appetite.
another thing i did was to hand feed and give Critical Care...it was my godsend........perhaps see how you go and then if needs by supplement like i did
